Have a look at our Uses page to see if our Smart Reflectors are right for you.

If you’ll be getting a free reflector, yes, you’ll need an internet connection. Even if you’ll be buying a reflector an internet connection is recommended so that:

  • It can protect itself before bad weather gets close
  • You can control it from anywhere
  • You can sell energy to your neighbours
  • It can see upcoming weather to store heat in your home

Yes, though you’ll need solar panels for them to generate significant amounts of electricity.

Yes, Smart Reflectors should be able to boost any photovoltaic or photochemical equipment, for uses such as carbon capture, solar fuel generation etc. Consult your equipment provider to confirm.

If you own your Smart Reflector your energy is free. For any reflectors we’re lending you, your energy is paid for before use

You will be able to set this up via your app after you get your reflector.

If you’re heating your home, around 1 for each window, or around 6 for the average swimming pool. Otherwise, each reflector can supply around 1kW of heating power whenever the sun shines, similar to the output of a standard electric space heater. Over an average year in the UK this equates to over 1,000kWh of heat energy.

Preferably somewhere North of whatever you want to heat, in a location where the reflector can see all the targets you’d like to direct solar energy to, which also gets sun all year round.

The reflectors will set themselves up automatically, just choose the target you’d like to direct the sun to and when you’d like it shone on.

Nope. Our Smart Reflectors will automatically learn where to direct the Sun’s energy in your home to store the heat so it’s released when required, in the ground floor for long periods, brick walls for medium periods, or furniture / hollow walls for short periods.
